This workshop was created for parents and caregivers of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities who struggle with social skills. The first presentation is an introduction to social skills and how to identify and improve these skills for your child. Attendance to this presentation is required in order to attend the follow up seminars. For the follow-up seminars, we will split into two groups based on your child’s current skills to develop goals and strategies to address them. One group will be for parents of children who are not yet speaking in sentences and will target skills such as playing games with others, making eye contact, and getting attention from others. The other group is for parents of children who are speaking in sentences and will cover more advanced social skills such as making conversations and cooperative play.
