Who: This workshop was specifically created for parents and caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. Other professionals such as school psychologists, early intervention providers, SLPs, etc. are welcome to attend. This workshop will qualify for BCBA CEUs.
What: This workshop is designed to help parents understand the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process and critically evaluate their own child’s IEP. The first half of the workshop will describe the components of an IEP and emphasize the development of appropriate goals which are observable and measurable. Parents will then have the opportunity to meet with a representative from the Marcus Autism Center to discuss their child’s current IEP. Parents are encouraged to bring a copy of their child’s current IEP to the workshop.
